Просмотров 1132 года назад
Alex at a very young age, the embedded info says April 11, 2009 which would be Alex's first birthday but I don't remember him having a walker then. I thought the walker came after his CP diagnosis around 16 months. Could be camera date was off?

Alex Arriving at Pine Bush Elementary on Accessible Bus
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.5 лет назад
Alex arrives at Pine Bush Elementary school for the fourth day in a row using his favorite mobility device, his posterior walker, after almost six years of intentional exclusion based on disability. Only disabled children with specially equipped to the district's satisfaction wheelchairs or those able bodied enough to use the bus steps are given school transportation. This means that when Alex ...
Alex Using Actually Accessible STAR Bus at PBE
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.5 лет назад
Alex has to use CDTA's STAR bus to get truly accessible school transportation and the instruction time his able peers in the same room receive. Otherwise the common practice of de facto segregation based on disability to "special education" buses results in an earlier dismissal to accommodate bus scheduling instead of student needs. Also common is a pattern and practice of school transit entiti...

The trees done their part, holding snow on the road.
Wonder how many clutches they went through a winter like that.
Given the year and the (then) technology this machine was revolutionary for its ability. Notice the rather light-pack snow on the surrounding fields, yet the roadways were drifted-in heavy with encrusted snow-pack. The ramming maneuver was obviously an effective practice in the 30s. One of the observers from that time got the idea for an eventual 'snowblower' no doubt which meant less shoveling.
I grew up on and around the Oshkosh area. In the late 60s, early 70s, Trucks like that ol' Oshkosh, were a common sight. That truck is gorgeous!
Awsome piece of equipment. Massport has hundreds of these.
Those guys weren’t shy to get a good run on those drifts lol
Looks like it was very hard on the transmission
And now if we have a inch of snow on the roads we are getting called in to plow people are so spoiled today.. I would love to leave the roads like this just once
I say gasoline no bull shit epa crap on the truck to slow it down
I wanna know what’s in that purse
I have cerebral palsy also I can't imagine being denied access to handicap accessible school buses Because it is against ADA guidelines not to provide handicap accessible transportation
I'm forming a nonprofit whose mission is bridging the gap between legislation, ideals, and the status quo found on the ground in school bus transportation. Our children should not be stigmatized by public labeling as special needs or special Ed, and on this basis segregated or relegated to a separate bus system that isn't even accessible, excluding standees, those who use braces, canes, crutches or walkers from using the lift that is meant for anyone who has difficulty using steps for any reason. Can you help make the world a better place for disabled children that have to get to school on a school bus by becoming a founding board member, officer or volunteer? There is a vision and start of a website I somehow got up that needs TLC , I don't understand the "simple tools"! Go to nstsaa.org to see my start, email me larrymarmet@gmail.com and I'll send my cell number. <biggrin> Help?! For millions of disabled kids being discriminated against and no one sees it but a few like you?
how about that link belt?
True work horses!!
Almost 30yrs of plowing snow the only thing I can see he's doing wrong or could change and that's backing up and getting as much speed possible and use that momentum to drive into the snow and pushing it further because anyone who knows plowing knows to keep the momentum going and sometimes getting a run at it will keep you moving a little more.
Driver must have been like, "stop climbing in the hole in front of me to show off"
Larry I love it how did you build it but you need something to make that galvanized steel slippery
Detroit powered?
That's a cool ol truck
Oshkosh snow plow should be W 2206 rollover plow with underbody Ran one inMarquette Michigan Ki Sawyer Air Force Base 1964 truck was manufactured in 1950 good plow underbody on the truck to scrape off ice
The Oshkosh truck is pretty sweet, but I couldn't help but notice that M900-series 5 ton parked along the other side of the road ;) I used to have a 1991 BMY M931A2 as my daily driver :) I loved that truck!
The 3:40 mark shows how the all wheel drive works.
..at the 5:20 mark that boy has what I think is called a "skip jack" kinda like a sky sled type thing kids used in the snow.
When Men were Men and Trucks were Trucks made of real America steel
If the road salt wasn't used most of these trucks would still be road-worthy.
Back when trucks were TRUCKS and men were MEN!!
So what is the condition of the truck today........2/20/21?
That’s such a sweet sound...👍🏻
I need one of these for my driveway...lol
Boy I would love to see a more detailed video on that unit looks just like my Uncles P&H 👍
I wish you would show more of the whole crane 🏗 I love P&H Crane’s and Draglines 😀

Wow
I thought we going to see a rollover by a plow.
Larry. Do you mean, it rolls the snow over and throws it left or it it also one of those that rotates and throw to the right? Just wondering?
Used to drive a 2070A right out of high school. Dust pan plow and 10' wing. Could rip through the gears while plowing. Fun loud truck to drive. Miss the sound it made.
its just so weird seeing big trucks without mud flaps
35 MPH max, less danger maybe
That’s not snow that’s ice and six foot deep.
Looks like fun.
Wow
What engine is in this truck? Cat?
Pushin it back
With the black smoke air fuel ratio needs to be looked it.
That is an awesome truck!!
That's awesome. Always thought it was sad they could only plow & throw one direction
Rr
Where is the TNT?
Can't QUITE hear the film projector.
I'm Larry's brother, I thought Alex was a teenager by now. We don't talk much. Seeing any kid overcome like this is wonderful.
